Hi there, I'm Sophie
A project manager and a parent, currently an expat living in Paris, France.
Several years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn't in the grand plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed a lot more complex than they'd need to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the fly. Yet over time, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began to create something that felt secure.
Why I Built Aurora Balm Canyon
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in France.
